IT supplier Solvinity in the news: what does this mean for DigiD?

You must always be able to trust DigiD. The news about the American acquisition of supplier Solvinity by the American company Kyndryl may raise questions for you. We would like to explain what this means for your DigiD.

Solvinity is a supplier to DigiD, not the owner

DigiD is managed by the Dutch government organization Logius, part of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. Solvinity provides the platform that DigiD runs on, which is hosted in a government data center. This makes Solvinity a supplier to DigiD, not the owner.

Investigation into possible consequences is ongoing

The possible acquisition of Solvinity by the American company Kyndryl is a business decision in which Logius has had no role. Logius understands that this development may raise questions. That is why an extensive investigation is being carried out into any possible consequences for the service delivery, security, and privacy of DigiD.

If the investigation shows risks that we cannot accept, we will take immediate action. The safety and reliability of DigiD and your data are our highest priority.
