Do you need help to arrange matters with the government online, such as your tax return or rent surcharge. You can give someone else permission to do so, by means of DigiD Authorisation.
You give someone permission (authorisation) for a specific task, for example a tax return, and for a fixed period, for example a year. The person you authorise will then only have access to this specific data only for that period.
It is possible to authorise several people.
If you would like someone else to take care of your affairs, you can request an authorisation code for this person.
Have you received an authorisation code? Then contact the person who is going to help you. Give that person the following details:
No DigiD
You have no DigiD? You can also apply for authorisation without DigiD by telephone via the DigiD helpdesk. You will then receive the authorisation code at the address registered in the Dutch Personal Records Database.
If you know who you want to authorise, you can also ask this person to apply for the authorisation via machtigen.digid.nl.
If would you like to arrange matters for someone else, you can apply for an authorisation code yourself. This is practical if the person you want to help is unable to do so. What do you need:
The requested authorisation code will be sent by post to the home address of the person for whom you are going to arrange things. You need to give that person the code personally.
Please note: does the person you want to help live in the Caribbean Netherlands or abroad? Then you cannot receive this letter. Request the authorisation at machtigen.digid.nl instead. The person you want to help can approve the authorisation at machtigen.digid.nl. They will need DigiD or another European recognized login method.
Do you need help arranging matters online and did you receive an authorisation code? Then you can give this code and your citizen service number to the person who will be helping you.
Do you want to help someone and has this person given you an authorisation code together with his or her citizen service number? Then you can activate the authorisation on the 'DigiD Authorisation' website by entering this code. Log into the website with your own DigiD and select 'activate'.

Do you want to see which authorisations you have? You can view them via My authorisations. Here you can also stop authorisations by choosing 'Revoke authorisation'. You can then no longer use the authorisation.
You can view and adjust the expiry date of your authorisation via My authorisations. You can log in here with your own DigiD, eHerkenning or European recognized login method. Is the expiry date of your authorisation approaching? Below we explain what you can do.
If someone else arranges matters for you:
Extend your authorisation yourself via My authorisations. You can do this by adjusting the expiry date of the authorisation.
If you arrange matters for someone else:
You can then revoke the active authorisation and request a new authorisation.
Are you unable or unwilling to log in? Then call the DigiD helpdesk on telephone number 088 123 65 55.
You can check your authorisation via My authorisations. You can log in here with your own DigiD, eHerkenning or European recognized login method. Check whether the authorisation is active. Is the authorisation under the heading 'Expired'? Then the authorisation can no longer be used. You can then request a new authorisation.
